These are ongoing Tuesday night Oil Painting sessions led by Greg Geiger.

Location: Art for Everyone. 307 East St. Patrick, RC SD.
Class size is 2-8 people. 6-8pm. $35 / per class

This is a fun course for beginning students. Open enrollment for every Tuesday night in Jan-Feb 2026. Through a combination of assignments and independent study, you will figure out what your style might be! Your painting level doesn't matter, as long as you have a positive attitude and are willing to create and grow as a painter. You will advance your skills in color, composition, size, shape, line, texture, and density control in painting. Bring your own supplies - Oil Paints, Canvas, Brushes, and if wanted - Odorless paint thinner.

Recommended Paint Colors:
Cadmium red
Alizarin crimson
Titanium white
Burnt sienna
Burnt umber
Yellow ochre
Ultramarine blue
Cerulean blue
Permanent green
Cadmium Yellow Medium

Canvas boards or pre-stretched canvas at least 11” x 14”

Recommended Brushes:
1-2 round brush, series 4235 R #2 or smaller (Grumbacher-Bristlette)
1-2 flat 1/2” - 3/4” brush (Professional Bristle)

Other materials worth bringing:
Paper palette, Mid-size palette knife, Odorless paint thinner, Container, Rags, Pencil & notebook.

Other materials and tools may be discussed in class. Gesso and a gesso brush will be available if needed.
